I love the colours of this, it has a great Victorian feel to it. I also really like the umbrella, did you dye it yourself?

My brother has been begging me to make him a steampunk outfit for ages, so I really should get around to that soon. They look like a lot of fun to make and wear!

The umbrella is not dyed by me, it is Vintage. I use it as a sun parasol because it's too good to keep locked up in the house, even though it is somewhat delicate.

I agree with your brother, you should make a Steampunk outfit. It's more fun being Victorian when there is an anachronistic twist!

Oh, awesome! Yes, I really like the old saying that it's better to wear out than rust out.

Right now all of my friends have me sewing madly for all of their Renaissance faire costumes, most of whom go as some form of elf or fey. So I was playing around with the idea of doing an elven steampunk costume one of these days...

Lots of sewing to do before Dragon*Con ^_^;

Ah, yes. I'm getting a group together for ren faire/ dragon*con to be the Unseelie Court. I'm currently working on some wings (currently currently, as in right now) and was considering going sort of steampunk/gentry with it. At least for d*Con. So do it! If enough people get the same idea, we can have some sort of breakthrough fad at D*Con!

Ooh, sounds awesome! My boyfriend and I are going as an elven prince/princess, so maybe we'll have time to make a some steampunk style elven gear for DragonCon too! He's been going for many years and doing the parade etc., but this'll be my first year. Really excited about it!

Which ren faire do you guys frequent? Most of my group stay around CRF (Carolina Ren Fest.) and GARF.
